Confirmation

Typically held in the spring is the sacrament of Confirmation. During Confirmation, the focus is on the Holy Spirit, who confirmed the apostles on Pentecost and gave them courage to practice their faith.

Rejoice and celebrate with those receiving the sacrament of Confirmation with a variety of meaningful gifts from The Printery House…message blocks, framed prints of the fruits of the spirit, beautiful crosses, and frames. The following prayer for a confirmand can also serve as an inspiring prayer for all of us:

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and You shall renew the face of the earth. As we welcome you into our hearts, may we will grow in knowledge and service. Amen.
God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.  Romans 5:5

Walking Down Memory Lane

Do you have a favorite memory from your First Communion or Confirmation Day? Such milestones of faith can bring back wonderful memories.  My Confirmation Day felt as exciting as any graduation day. I was becoming an adult in the church family. My grandparents had been my Baptismal sponsors, so they were present—as were my aunts, uncles, and cousins. My mother hosted a wonderful dinner in my honor. It was a glorious day on so many levels.
