Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. We are full of hopeful expectations as we prepare for the birth of our Savior and the promise of the new year.
In this time, we can really prepare by reflecting on our deep need for Jesus through Advent devotional booklets. These booklets let us bring focus each day to the things that truly matter in our lives and help us to prepare ourselves to receive God’s gift of Jesus. These booklets are not only great gifts for others but could be one of the best gifts to give ourselves.

May 8th, Mother’s Day, is only two weeks away. Our mother’s constant love is our strength and joy. Mothers, our first teachers and role models, show us that love is the source of beauty in every day. What about the women in our lives who may not have been our mothers, but have also guided us lovingly through life—have prayed for us and with us, have cried with us in the bad times and celebrated with us in the good ones, have encouraged and nurtured us. Perhaps they are our sisters or good friends. Honor and celebrate all women on Mother’s Day with a unique gift and card from the Printery House. Then say a special prayer to bless them for all their nurturing ways.
Fr. Patrick Caveglia, O.S.B, a monk of Conception Abbey, has written this Mother’s Day prayer for a special Printery House card:
bless my mother this Mother’s Day
for her loving and nurturing ways.
Through her care and intercession,
you graced me and formed me
in so many ways.
May the love you gave me through her
be showered on her today
and for all eternity. Amen.
One of the joys of spring is the baptism of the newest addition to a family. “Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213). Peter explained what happens at baptism when he said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). Celebrate this Christian milestone with a meaningful Printery House card or gift.
