Mother’s Day

May  8th, Mother’s Day, is only two weeks away. Our mother’s constant love is our strength and joy.  Mothers, our first teachers and role models, show us that love is the source of beauty in every day.  What about the women in our lives who may not have been our mothers, but have also guided us lovingly through   life—have prayed for us and with us, have cried with us in the bad times and celebrated with us in the good ones, have encouraged and nurtured us.  Perhaps they are our sisters or good friends. Honor and celebrate all women on Mother’s Day with a unique gift and card from the Printery House. Then say a special prayer to bless them for all their nurturing ways.

Fr. Patrick Caveglia, O.S.B, a monk of Conception Abbey, has written this Mother’s Day prayer for a special Printery House card:

Merciful God,
bless my mother this Mother’s Day
for her loving and nurturing ways.
Through her care and intercession,
you graced me and formed me
in so many ways.
May the love you gave me through her
be showered on her today
and for all eternity.  Amen.

Holy Baptism

One of the joys of spring is the baptism of the newest addition to a family. “Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213). Peter explained what happens at baptism when he said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). Celebrate this Christian milestone with a meaningful Printery House card or gift.ca50015 cb10119 cl60629

Confirmation

Typically held in the spring is the sacrament of Confirmation. During Confirmation, the focus is on the Holy Spirit, who confirmed the apostles on Pentecost and gave them courage to practice their faith.

Rejoice and celebrate with those receiving the sacrament of Confirmation with a variety of meaningful gifts from The Printery House…message blocks, framed prints of the fruits of the spirit, beautiful crosses, and frames. The following prayer for a confirmand can also serve as an inspiring prayer for all of us:

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and You shall renew the face of the earth. As we welcome you into our hearts, may we will grow in knowledge and service. Amen.
God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.  Romans 5:5
