Religious Thank You Cards: The Gift of Saying Thanks

Thank You Card

Next to the winter holidays, springtime may just be the busiest social time of the year. There are graduations, concerts, performances, open houses and wedding showers in abundance around this season.

As the weather warms up a bit and spring moves into summer there will be more weddings, garden parties, pool parties, barbecues and 4th of July events to attend. It is a great time of year for social interactions. All of which means it is a good idea to stock up on Thank You cards now so that you will have them on hand when you need them.

Lest you think that Thank You cards are a quaint relic of the past, think for a moment about how you feel when you discover an actual piece of personal correspondence in the mailbox. If you’re honest, it makes you feel just a bit happier about lugging in all the bulk mailings and bills to sort through. Keep that in mind when you write out a thank you card this spring/summer, you are sending happiness in an envelope to someone!

Thank you cards are really part of an ongoing conversation. Social interaction is a give and receive affair. Whether plain, funny or religious, thank you cards are one way that we show people that they are appreciated for themselves and not just their attendance or their gifts.

If you are a Christian, then the words of God are part of your everyday life and conversation already, so why not send a religious thank you card? Believing friends and family will appreciate being remembered and they will also appreciate the encouraging words and scripture verses. Saying thank you with a religious thank you card thus becomes a double-sided gift. The Printery House has an excellent selection of Thank You cards, all made on-site in the beautiful rolling hills of Conception Abbey.

Personalized Wedding Gifts: For Keeps, For Generations

Wedding season will be here soon. Halfway into May, you will have probably already attended one or more wedding showers. June brides are making their final fitting appointments. Parents of the bride are double-checking flower orders and reception menus. As the guest, you’ve got it made – all you have to do is show up. Get your wedding gift sooner rather than later, and then there is nothing for you to do but to enjoy the happy event.

Most couples today have made a complete list of the many necessities they need and desire with at least two big-name stores. Buying from the gift registry is a good way to help the young couple set up house, and helping young married couples get set is a real blessing. However, personalized wedding gifts can wind up being more treasured and valued for years to come.

Cash, for example, is fast becoming a popular wedding gift. But as appreciated as it may be at the time, it is not a gift that will be connected to any particular item and it will not likely be long remembered. Money as a gift may say ‘generosity’ and ‘practical’ – but it doesn’t say ‘personal’. Gifts that reflect what you know about the couple do say those things.

Christian couples who wed this summer might be blessed to receive a Wedding Bible. The Printery House offers a beautiful New American Standard edition Bible perfect for newlyweds. The Bible even has a place for the couple to record the bible verses that were part of the wedding ceremony. This is the kind of gift that gets passed on to the next generation.

Another fun idea under personalized wedding gifts, is a musical keepsake box. The Printery House has a music box which plays the tune of On Eagle’s Wings, with eagle artwork on the lid. However, the box is made purposefully with easy access to the artwork so that you could also slide it out and replace it with a 4×6” photo of the couple under the glass to personalize it. This keepsake box will be a keeper.

Believing couples have thought ahead to needing a toaster, a blender and bath towels, but they may not have thought about the holidays they will be sharing. Why not bless them with the gift of an Advent Candleholder? When December rolls around they will be so appreciative…and the December after that….and the December after that….

Consider going off-registry this summer. Try giving personalized wedding gifts instead. The Printery House has them. Take a look soon, then relax and enjoy the ceremony and the cake.

Blessing a Marriage With a Gift They Will Treasure

Summer weather means summer weddings. Everything is lush and green. Flowers are in bloom. The couple feels sure that no two people have ever been as deeply in love as they are. Weddings are a beautiful and joyous day for a couple. Finding the perfect wedding gift is a little trickier.

While it may be true that every newlywed couple needs a salad spinner and a cheese board or at least a set of 400-count Egyptian cotton sheets, guests at Christian weddings might also consider gifts that focus on faith.

The God who joined this couple will be the same God to carry this couple through many years of wedded life. Inspirational wedding gifts help them to remember that God resides at the center of, not only their wedding, but their daily living. So here are a few gift suggestions for blessing a marriage with faith gifts the couple will treasure.

Words of faith for the walls

Many couples begin life with not much more than a few belongings leftover from college days. Help the new couple to set up house by giving them wall art that points to God. Framed bible verses, prayers and blessings are a great way to remind the bride and groom that God is an integral part of their new relationship. Blessing a marriage with the words of Joshua 24:15b is popular But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Ornamental crosses are also a great blend of faith and stylish artwork.

Words of faith for the soul

Music speaks to the heart in a special way. Giving the new couple some Christian music to fill their home is a sure way to help create a joy-filled atmosphere. Wrap up your Christian music with wedding paper and silver-white ribbon and then attach bible verses like Ephesians 5:19b Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord or Psalm 33:1 Sing joyfully to the Lord you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.

Words of faith for the mind

Christian books may not seem as practical as mixing bowls and coffeemakers, but ask anyone who has been married for more than six months and you will find that devotional reading can be the most practical tool around for holding marriage partners close to God and therefore to one another. There are many excellent Christian books on marriage that could be given. But actually any reading that strengthens faith and holy living will be beneficial.

Blessing a marriage, particularly a Christian marriage, with a gift that can be treasured is as simple as finding a gift that focuses on Christ. At The Printery House invited guests can find an array of faith-based gifts that will bear daily testimony to the presence of God in the Christian home.

Unique Father’s Day Gifts Dad Will Love

Dads are like main support beams in a house. They don’t attract a lot of attention, but without them everything you see would fall apart. Dad may not enjoy the spotlight, but once a year families pause to thank the man that God has placed into the role of Father. Dads provide security, comfort and strength. And when families are blessed with a dad who follows Christ, the blessings are just that much richer.

That said, it can be a tall order to come up with gifts that bless the man everyone turns to and relies upon. Unique Father’s Day gifts are hard to come by. Common Father’s Day gift ideas usually run along the lines of snazzy electronics, sports paraphernalia, or some new clothes that, to be honest, dad may not even want. Neckties are the ultimate in ‘been there, done that’ Father’s Day gift-giving.

This year why not give dad a gift that is out of the ordinary? If you are fortunate enough to have a Christian father, then give him a gift that celebrates that blessing. Unique Father’s Day gifts are a little easier to come up with when you focus on your dad’s faith, and how it has played a unique role in your own life. At The Printery House, there are a number of faith-related gifts that would be sure to make any dad feel loved and appreciated.

Give dad words of scripture and spiritual leadership to share

Catholic dads may enjoy receiving a new Catholic Study Bible. This Bible is worded for understanding. Visual aids help readers to recognize significant scripture passages. Dads might also appreciate a book containing Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers. Dads are the spiritual leaders in the home, but a book filled with prayers and words of blessing can help them take on that role with more confidence. A bookmark makes an ideal companion gift.

Give dad words of promise and blessing for himself

Dad gives out advice and wisdom, but dads need strengthening and encouragement too. Pocket prayers are terrific ways to keep words of blessing and spiritual encouragement ‘on hand’. At The Printery House you can find the Irish Pocket Prayer. This well-loved prayer is really a blessing. That same blessing can be purchased as a framed wall hanging. The blessing is hand-lettered and adorned with Celtic design. Whether putting his hand in his pocket or glancing up at his office or study wall, these words of prayer and blessing will encourage all day long.

Unique Father’s Day gifts don’t stop there, of course. There is a terrific Life Compass Silver-Plated Key Chain with a great back story. The compass refers to the parting words of wisdom a father gave to his college-bound son. Visit The Printery House website to read the whole story. The important thing about choosing a gift for your dad, is to find a way to say Thank You that resonates with him and lets him know how his life of faith has made an impact on yours.
