All Things Work Together For Good

Consumers aren’t afraid to shop online for their Christmas needs. In fact, a recent consumer report says that around 25 percent of consumers find shopping online more convenient than getting out and fighting the crowds in the stores.

eCustomerService Index said in its report that of the 2,000 consumers surveyed, a quarter of them preferred surfing the web for deals. Just more than 40 percent said they don’t like waiting in line, getting little to no help from the understaffed stores and dealing with overcrowded stores and that they’d rather shop online.

Not surprisingly, around 96 percent said they’d do some of their Christmas shopping online, and around 50 percent said they’d do at least half of their shopping online and the other half at stores.

Consumers are no longer hovering over their desktops to shop – about 65 percent said they would use their mobile devices to shop. Just a few years ago, online shopping through mobile devices accounted for .4 percent of sales. This holiday season retailers expect to see about 35 percent of all online purchases being bought through mobile devices.

Retailers know that they need to be where consumers are going, so they’re reacting by beefing up their online services in an effort to attract more consumers and to give them a better online shopping experience.

Did you know that online shopping in its earliest incarnation involved pizza? As early as 1995, Pizza Hut gave their customers an online option in ordering a pie. But 1995 was also the year that eBay and got their start. Nobody could have predicted then what these online companies would become today.

Online stores are open 24 hours a day and offer the ease of convenience that consumers are looking to attain. Another advantage to shopping online is that many online stores offer a tab where customers can add a review of the product. Shoppers get a detailed account of why the product is exceptional or why it should be avoided. Experts write some reviews while actual consumers write others.
