Honor Your Mother This Sunday

Mother’s Day is Sunday, a time to honor our mothers and the wonderful women who have been like a mother to us. It’s also a good time to thank God for the gifts of all nurturing women in our lives…grandmothers, sisters, aunts, teachers, mentors, and women friends. They reflect God’s light and love; helping us in the hard times and celebrating with us in the good ones. Happy Mother’s Day! God provides love…Mom adds hugs.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; Proverbs 31:28

Mother’s Day Is Almost Here

G2909Still need some Mother’s Day ideas? How about an inspiring journal for the women who have nurtured you? Not just a great gift for mom but also for a favorite aunt or supportive friends. The “She is Clothed with Strength & Dignity” journal is the ideal place to write conversations with God, prayers, and the daily details of life. The verses and inspiring quotes inside offer encouragement and a smile or two. (160 pages ) Another great idea is a beautiful hammered metal plate, perfect for holding rings, jewelry, and trinkets. Inscription reads: “Count your blessings instead of your crosses; Count your gains instead of your losses. Count your health instead of your wealth… Count on God instead of yourself.” The other one is inscribed with John 3:16. Both are 4 1/2 inches in diameter.

Mother’s Day

May 8th, Mother’s Day, is only two weeks away. Our mother’s constant love is our strength and joy. Mothers, our first teachers and role models, show us that love is the source of beauty in every day. What about the women in our lives who may not have been our mothers, but have also guided us lovingly through life—have prayed for us and with us, have cried with us in the bad times and celebrated with us in the good ones, have encouraged and nurtured us. Perhaps they are our sisters or good friends. Honor and celebrate all women on Mother’s Day with a unique gift and card from the Printery House. Then say a special prayer to bless them for all their nurturing ways.

Fr. Patrick Caveglia, O.S.B, a monk of Conception Abbey, has written this Mother’s Day prayer for a special Printery House card:

Merciful God,
bless my mother this Mother’s Day
for her loving and nurturing ways.
Through her care and intercession,
you graced me and formed me
in so many ways.
May the love you gave me through her
be showered on her today
and for all eternity. Amen.
